The Glen Abbey Memorial Park is located within 120 acres of pristine property,
located in Bonita, set on a high hill which affords serene views of the surrounding city -- San Diego
Harbor, Coronado, the Coronado Bridge, and the distant, outreaching promontory of Point Loma.
Through the early efforts of Kate Sessions and Walter Anderson, Glen Abbey was
planted with more than 40 varieties of trees, lending to the beauty and grace of the many Gardens,
slopes, and lawns that comprise the park.
The Old Fashioned Garden, Sleepy Hollow, Sunset Slope, The Little Lake of
Dreams, The Rose Bower, Golden Glen, and the newly completed Nature Garden offer many
opportunities for tranquil interludes.
Nature Garden
A concept used in Europe for many years, a lasting memorial tribute for generations to come,
modeled, in part by the most dramatic projects of this type in Australia and New Zealand. Glen
Abbey introduces its new Nature Garden, a place of interment for cremated remains of loved ones.
The nature path, serene and ethereal, in the midst of which can be found a
powerful fountain sculpture by renowned landscape architect, Mike Green, leads the way to the
Nature Garden.
The simplicity, dignity and affordability of cremation have made it a popular
choice among followers of most faiths. Within the Nature Garden can be found an idyllic setting, a
moving and inspirational home for permanent memorial placements for those choosing cremation.
